Прямоугольное двухстороннее полотнище белого цвета с отношением ширины к длине 2:3, на котором воспроизведены фигуры герба Зольского муниципального района: идущий конь малинового цвета с чёрными глазами, гривой, хвостом и копытами, накрытый двухцветной попоной (голубого и зелёного цвета) с жёлтым солнцем и такой же бахромой. В верхней части полотнища голубым цветом выделена гора с двумя вершинами, левая из которых больше и выше.
