Short term grant:
Foreign Ministry of Finland – for presentation “Contemporary Representations Of Cultural Traditions” at the Congress “Semiotics of Cultural Heritage” at the International Semiotic Institute (ISI), Imarta, Finland, June 8-12 2013
Has been presented theory isomorfism theory on an exmaple of some religious words through Medieval national literatures: different names for similarities. Suggested topic – Azerbaijani Cultural Heritage – assumede two main reserch directions. Azerbaijani, which is mailnly political, as well as any other nation title in this kind of researches. This divides people as any nation’s name. Cultural heritage is what we share with others, mostly understanding commonness. Contemporary splitting identites can not erase congeniality of cultural patterns.
Similarities in different cultures, such as similarities of plot, character, ritual or lexical root, are given different names and theories: archetype, propotype, isomorphism, invariant, variant, nostratic, meme (the same as genes in biology), and so on. Affinities in culture appear as replicare, reproduction of primordial type, regeneration cell, or isosemantism, which became obvious at the crossroads of literature, linguistics, history, culture and religion. The paper considered similarities as cultural nostra-ti-fication through the semantics of the some key terms of cultural matrix, related with Azerbaijni literature of medeival period, as with all literatures of this period - the words literature/edebiyyat/kitab, tarik-at (tarikh/history, hagia), zikr (sacred, secret, sacrament, zikkurat, step, sotoba), qoheleh (preacher-wisdom teacher, mwellim, mullah), meraj (mirror, writing for princes, specula principum, didicatic).
