Artur Nevill Çemberlen [[18 mart]] [[1869]]-cu ildə [[Birmingem]]də anadan olmuşdur. [[1918]]-ci ildən parlament deputatı, [[1930]] — [[1931]]-ci illərdə [[Mühafizəkarlar Partiyası (Böyük Britaniya)|Mühafizəkarlar partiyası]]nın sədri, [[1937]] — [[1940]]-cı illərdə isə [[Böyük Britaniya]]nın baş naziri olmuşdur. [[Faşizm|Faşist]] təcavüzünü [[SSRİ]]-yə qarşı yönəltmək məqsədilə Çemberlen hökuməti [[Üçüncü Reyx|Hitler Almaniyası]]na bir sıra güzəştlərə getmiş, [[Moskva]] danışıqlarına ([[1939]]) rəğmən [[Almaniya]] ilə gizli sövdələşməyə cəhd göstərmişdir. Lakin Çemberlen hökumətinin bu siyasəti boşa çıxdıqdan sonra [[Böyük Britaniya]] əlverişsiz bir şəraitdə [[İkinci dünya müharibəsi]]nə qoşulmuşdu. [[1940]]-cı il, [[10 may|mayın 10-da]] istefa verməyə məcbur olmuş və elə həmin ilin [[9 noyabr|noyabrın 9-da]] vəfat etmişdir.
